Welcome to CHILDESIGN, The National Center on Design for Children ONLINE!

CHILDESIGN is the only advocacy organization in the United States devoted exclusively to examining the whole of the designed world – rather than one specific product or setting -- and its determining influence on children.

CHILDESIGN is a passionate believer in the power of design to support, protect and improve the quality of life for children.

The Center was founded in 1984, by Sandra Edwards, its current president and editorial/design director. Since then, it has brought its message to parents, students, professionals, policymakers and the public.

It’s main goal now is to open a built headquarters open to the public: a new national institution –a resource center / museum -- that will solidify its voice for children and insure that its work carries on into the future.

Location
CHILDESIGN’s administrative offices are located in New York City, but are not open to the public. Currently, CHILDESIGN goes directly to the sites of our various constituent groups for consultations and private seminars, or reaches them through lectures and exhibitions that are held at venues open to the trade or the public. A principle venue for reaching the largest possible audience is publication.

Campaign
With the website, CHILDESIGN launches nationally the Building a Better World for Children Campaign^TM. While membership enables our on-going, daily investigations and operations, the proceeds from this Campaign will go to the Building a Better World for Children Fund^TM to secure, design, build out and open The National Center on Design for Children.
